German Butchery

“I walked by this place once before and I came back to try it out today. I tried the curry sausages with fries and salad, and if you would like to do the same you better bring an appetite. This was a big meal. I enjoyed it, but the sausage did have a bit of an atypical consistency, not as firm as they would be in German, but the taste was good. I also tried a local beer, Primus, but be aware here as well as big, does mean big, its 700ml at only 2000frw. All in all a great experience, food was good, beer was cold, servers very friendly and very fair if not competitive prices. If I would stayed in town a few more days, I would probably coke back to try other items on the menu.”

“If you like German food then you should visit the German Butchery in Kigali. I tried the Currywurst with French fries. The portions are huge, the taste is good, but the Currywurst hadn't quite the taste you'd have in Germany.”

“I visited because I wanted to try the suckling pig that is offered on the first Saturday of every month. In order to entertain some special guests, I called the day before to make a reservation, but was unable to do so. I visited again in the morning to try to make a reservation, but was told that I didn’t need one and could just come in. Since I had a large group, I asked if I could at least reserve seats, but the staff told me again that I could just come and refused to take any reservation. In the evening, I visited, ordered drinks first, and then ordered the suckling pig. However, the staff told me that sukling pig had already sold out. So why didn’t they take my reservation? ^^ Then I tried to order other dishes, but even after 20 minutes, my drinks still hadn’t arrived and the staff continued to ignore me, so I couldn’t place any additional orders. I don’t know how good their suckling pig is, but I have no intention of visiting again, and I will not recommend this place to others.”
