âWe booked Dazzlet online and confirmed by WhatsApp with the owner 1 week before arrival. However when we arrived, we were told the Dazzlet was overbooked but they arranged another hotel of a higher standard for us for the same price. As it was night time, and we were in a foreign country, so we accepted. When we arrived at the new hotel they tried to charge us double. It took over an hour of me arguing with the staff there, calling booking.com, and trying to call Dazzlet (whose phones were not working) to get the situation sorted. I believe the Dazzlet owner agreed to pay the cost difference (so thank you for that). But the new hotel continued to nickel and dime us. We tested the shower upon arrival and it was broken. We immediately reported it. They called a plumber, but tried to get us to pay for the repair. They allowed us to have 1 breakfast (literally just gave us 1 chair at the breakfast table, single portion as compared to other guests, 1 cup, 1 set of cutlery, etc.), even though we paid for 2. The new hotel was extremely dirty. It was clear that basic surfaces like bedside tables, floors, chairs, headboard, floors, door handles, light switches had not been cleaned for months (or ever). Our cleaning cloths turned black from the lightest swipe. The location of the new hotel was also not as good (Dazzlet was close to the airport and had supermarkets and good stores just around the corner). I'm sure that Dazzlet is great, but unfortunately it was a bait and switch and we ended up at a bad hotel.â
