âMr Chips is one of Kigaliâs well-known casual dining spots, popular for its classic American-style fast food. Itâs located along KG 12 Avenue in the Kibagabaga area, within the Total Energies petrol station complex. (Thereâs also a new one in Zaria court). The restaurant has been around for several years and built a solid reputation among locals, students, and expats looking for a reliable, affordable meal.
The menu focuses on simple comfort food , juicy burgers, crispy chicken, spicy wings, pizzas, fish nuggets, and of course, perfectly golden fries (chips). Portions are generous, and everything is made fresh. Their burgers and wings, in particular, are consistent favorites. They also serve vegetarian options, and pizzas come with real mozzarella cheese, which sets them apart from many other quick-service spots in the city.
The atmosphere is casual and friendly , a good place for a relaxed lunch, an after-work bite, or a quick dinner. The bright yellow theme gives it a cheerful street-food vibe, and the staff are usually pleasant and quick to assist. Service is fairly fast, though during busy hours there can be short delays, especially with dine-in orders.
Prices are reasonable for Kigali standards, making it one of the better value-for-money options. You can comfortably eat for a modest budget without compromising on taste or freshness. They also offer take-away and delivery options, which are quite popular among regulars.
Overall, Mr Chips is a dependable choice for anyone craving a good burger, fries, or fried chicken in Kigali. Itâs simple, consistent, affordable, and delicious , the kind of place you return to when you just want comfort food done right.â

âA must go-to place while visiting Kigali for fast food. Thier grilled chicken breast is my favorite and coslaw washed down with a cold Coke.
Try their fish&chips too. Food is served within 7 minutes or less. Efficiency at its best in Kigali.
We recently enjoying our Thanksgiving dinner and celebrated a belated birthday for one of our daughters.â

âSo for the past two years due to work travel, I have missed Thanksgiving in America with my family and been in Rwanda. My American friend anticipated that this year, and arranged for us to have Thanksgiving style dinner at Mr. Chips! ....and when I tell you it was just like a little slice of home, it was amazing. We had mashed potatoes with gravy stovetop-style stuffing with actual sage grown from the owner's garden. saute vegetables and rotisserie chicken in place of turkey, which actually tasted even better than turkey. The whole experience was awesome. The service was great. We even got a chance to meet the owner. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to take a picture with him because he was filling in for a driver that was out. But definitely check out Mr. Chips, if you're interested in the American style food!â

âThe best fast food we've found in Kigali. We had the fish and chips, plus a Mr Crispy chicken burger. Both were done fairly quickly and both were good. The place was clean. The staff was very helpful when changing a dine-in order to takeout. Recommended.â

âThis place is SOO good. They have authentic American style food like burgers, pizza, and wings.
The pizza is made with real mozzarella cheese which is hard to come by in Kigali. The burgers are fresh and super delicious. The wings are seasoned to perfection along with a BBQ sauce that will have you licking all your fingers⊠and toes! đ
You don't have to wait an hour to get your food. The food comes out super fast. The service is fairly good and the owner is there almost everyday. He takes special care of his guests and makes sure everything is in tip top shape.â
