âWe stayed at Homescapes for one night in August 2025, and ended up extending our stay. Hereâs what we found:
The property is easy to access, located on a tarmac road thatâs well-known by local taxi drivers. Itâs situated in a high-end residential area of Gasave/Gisozi, which adds to the overall feel of the place. Itâs just a 5-minute drive to downtown, 2 minutes to the Genocide Memorial, and 5 minutes to the Bus Park and Uganda Highway, making it conveniently close to key spots in the city.
The property itself is impressive, with fancy furnishings and clean, modern attached bathrooms. The garden is massive and well-maintained, offering a peaceful, relaxing environment. Nights are quiet, ensuring great sleep quality. Internet speed is excellent, ideal for work or streaming.
The staff were outstanding, going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. They arranged a city tour for us, followed by a tour to Akagera National Park. Pickup was organized from the property, making it extremely convenient. We didnât have to worry about a thing. Even the airport taxi was a luxury vehicle, adding a nice touch to the whole experience.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay with top-notch service and convenience.â

âThis property is completely dishonest; the host is essentially a scammer. First, we arrived at the location provided by Booking.com (which only listed the street, not a specific address).
When we entered the building shown in the Google Photos, a Caucasian man came out. We asked him if this was "HomeEscapes," and he flatly denied it. Frustrated, we left and spent nearly an hour searching the area but couldn't find the property.
âAfter multiple failed attempts to call the host, he finally called back.
However, he refused to provide the actual address and insisted on meeting us in person. He then claimed the room we booked was unavailable and asked if we would accept an alternative location. Since we had been waiting for so long and were exhausted, we reluctantly agreed.
âTo our absolute shock, the same man who had earlier denied being the host walked out of the exact same building we first visited. He had been playing games with us from the very beginning and even pretended he had never seen us before. We were so outraged by this blatant deception that we decided to find other accommodations immediately.â

âI'm a young French woman and I spent a few days at this guesthouse in Kigali, and I highly recommend it! From the moment I arrived, the welcome was incredibly warm, and the staff was always ready to help me with advice about the city and its attractions. The house is charming, tastefully decorated, and the rooms are comfortable and spotless. I loved having breakfast on the terrace overlooking Kigali â a truly relaxing experience!
The location is perfect, quiet, yet close to the city center and tourist attractions like the Genocide Museum. The service was exceptional, always attentive, which made me feel completely safe and at ease.
In short, it's an ideal place to recharge while exploring Kigali. I will definitely be back!â
