The single hardest thing to verify about any auto-repair shop, anywhere in the world, is whether they'll be honest about the diagnosis. You can't tell from the shopfront. You can't tell from the price list. You can only tell from how the last hundred customers describe the experience — and specifically, from whether those customers use the word honest.
We pulled every review of every auto-repair business in our directory and ran it through a simple test: how often does the word honest, fair, trustworthy, or didn't overcharge appear, relative to the size of the review base? Seven garages came out clearly above the line. Here they are.

Two patterns across all seven
Two things stood out reading the corpus of positive reviews:
- They explain. Almost every honest-mechanic review mentions the staff showing the problem or explaining the diagnosis. The garages that survive in Kigali by reputation are the ones where the customer leaves understanding what was wrong.
- They specialise. Five of the seven are specialists — hybrids, tyres, European brands. The all-things-to-all-cars general mechanics tend to score lower on the honesty axis, probably because their diagnostic depth varies more across vehicle types.
