“One of the laziest bank ever, the online account does not work, transferring money from mobile money does not work, sometimes the app do not work especially when trying to send money or pay utility bills, the bank has only 2 agent representative in town. Very underrated bank, the staff and the card officers take more than 5 months just to process a claim, I think people working in this bank are lazy.”
“Do not use / trust Ecobank !!!!! On September 30th - @ Kigali Heights branch - I was given a $50 note that was rejected at the Forex, I brought it back and asked to change it but the teller (Teller 2 who gave me the note) said she did not give me that note and refused to change it / accept responsibility. This is alarming - I should be able to trust the bank to give me a clean note and more importantly not lie about it / denying responsibility. I then spoke to the supervisor Ernest who covered up for her, challenged me and still refused to change the note. I complained to the branch manager Safari Uwera who was arrogant, ignorant and didn't care. I also complained to the Customer Relations about inconsistent charges since I was charged 0.5% for taking out USD $ but my friend who has the same bank account was not charged (same Teller 2 at Kigali Heights branch) - one of their officers Florent Nahayo in Customer Relations told me 'every teller knows about the charges but not everyone does it' - Ecobank is a complete joke!!! Back in September I applied and paid for a credit card and they gave me a debit card - they told me that the credit card was not ready to be issued but it was clearly advertised on their website. What a complete joke of a bank!!!! I had to wait for 4 weeks to get my refund after many phone calls and arguments. DO NOT USE/ TRUST ECOBANK!
