“Sky high prices that doesn't match the service nor the food or drinks. We went for dinner and there was 6 of us (mixture of locals and foreigners). Took almost 2 hours to get the food and the taste and texture was not anything what you'd expect those dishes to be, it's a week night and place isn't full. Pasta was mush like baby food, salad had too much salt in it and fries were undercooked. Drinks also took time plus asking them to follow the recipes because they kept getting it wrong. They told us we don't have to pay and then I returned the next day to give them another chance. Following day I went for lunch, it was better since they knew I was coming and they were ready. It was the same Manager on duty, she disappeared after 45 mins and didn't care so much about righting everything that went wrong the previous day, I did ask if I could talk to her but they said she is out of the restaurant. All in all, a very disappointing and infuriating experience. Kigali has Many amazing places which cost less, you're ONLY paying for the decor in this place.”

“Essence has opened in a new location, at the heart of Kimihurura (where Poivre Noir used to be). Not yet fully furnished, but the new design is an improvement of this old house. I did not try their food this time, but the menue looks really promising. Can't wait to come here for dinner soon!”

“I went to this bar last night with my father, and we truly had a wonderful time. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Belinda, who took great care of us throughout the evening. She is smart, calm, kind, and very professional, and her welcoming attitude made us feel comfortable and valued. The food was delicious, well prepared, and enjoyable, and the service overall was excellent. The waiter Justin was also very friendly, attentive, and respectful, which added to the pleasant atmosphere. The place is calm, welcoming, and perfect for spending quality time. It was a beautiful experience, and I highly recommend this bar for its great service, good food, and wonderful staff.”
