“Beware. Went in for diagnostic for expected head gasket problem. When describing problem, service manager said it probably was head gasket but he would run tests. I asked specifically to test for exhaust gas in coolant. 30 minutes later he came back and read me the diagnostic from the OBD reader, with basic codes (things like seatbelt sensors, no check engine codes), nothing related to a head gasket. He said it was probably the head gasket and charged me 150,000 RWF. I told him this was a ridiculous price for 30 minutes of work that didn't even address the issue I came in for. He told me he was passing on the cost of software licenses (I didn't ask him to run the computer). Of course he wouldn't reIease my car until i paid. I asked for a quote for the head gasket that he said he would send, which i never received. I went out to this spot because I was seeking a professional mechanic's diagnosis, but could have gotten better service for a quarter of the price anywhere in Kigali. If you go here, get the fees upfront before they touch your car.”
