What customers say

★★☆☆☆

the food itself is great, but i was disappointed that the menu and staff didn’t clearly explain the extra charges for toppings. when i asked how the menu works, i was only told that a medium costs 9k and a large costs a bit more... with no further clarification. i ended up paying 16k for 1 sandwich, which is overpriced, especially if you expected a different price, and came with a certain budget to spend. several people around me were also unaware of these extra hidden charges, which made the overall experience less enjoyable. additionally, the extremely loud music at the counter made ordering difficult — i couldn’t hear the staff clearly, and they couldn’t understand me either. i had to shout for them to understand me this made the ordering process unnecessarily frustrating. it’s not okay that extra charges weren’t listed on the menu — hiding fees like this is misleading and frustrating for customers these hidden fees might create a financial problem for other customers who aren’t expecting them. i was able to cover the hidden charges, but they could be a burden for someone else...

Bunz Kigali at the Kigali Business Center (KBC) is one of those spots you head to when you’re craving a simple, filling sub or a refreshing drink without fuss. It’s tucked inside the basement of the KBC complex along KN 5 Road in Kimihurura, just across from the Convention Centre. Getting there is straightforward: if you’re driving, enter the KBC underground parking and follow the signage toward the food outlets, you’ll see Bunz clearly marked. For those without a car, a moto or taxi drop-off at the main KBC entrance works well, and then it’s a short walk down to the basement level. Parking is available inside the complex, making it convenient if you’re stopping by in between errands. The menu is straightforward and priced fairly. Their popular Meat Club Subs, Steak, Tuna, Salami, or Roasted Chicken are all around 6,500 RWF each. For something lighter, they offer Ham Subs like Beef Ham, Pork Ham, Chicken Ham, or Roast Beef, priced between 5,000–5,500 RWF. To pair with your meal, they serve a range of milkshakes; Vanilla, Chocolate, Avocado, Oreo, Coffee, Apple, Mango, and Strawberry each for 5,000 RWF. If you’re in the mood for something cooler, the cold drinks such as Iced Latte, Iced Mocha, Americano, or Iced Tea go for about 6,000 RWF. One of the highlights is their line of mojitos, with fruity flavors like Strawberry, Mango, Passion, and Pineapple, also around 6,000 RWF. Prices are consistent and affordable, especially compared to larger restaurants in the city. The ambience is casual and laid-back, more of a quick-service deli vibe than a sit-down restaurant. Expect a straightforward setup with counter service, modest seating, and an emphasis on fast turnaround. It’s a good stop if you’re looking for a quick lunch, an after-work bite, or even a takeaway before heading home. The subs are generous in size, the mojitos are refreshing, and the shakes add a sweet finish. While the food won’t feel gourmet, Bunz delivers value for money, especially if you want something simple and filling in a central location. Overall, Bunz at KBC is best for anyone in need of a quick, budget-friendly meal in the middle of Kigali. Easy access, affordable prices, and straightforward menu options make it a reliable go-to spot. If you’re in Kimihurura or near the Convention Centre, it’s one of the most convenient casual bites you’ll find.

Chef and former sandwich salad upscale fast new York deli owner and menu creator reporting here after living working in Rwanda 4 years. This store is modeled after the American chain subway, which is fast but low quality ingredients and low quality bread If I could take some points away, it would be for the mediocre soft hero bread that looks nothing like the photo they used but was adequate for the sandwich I would give more stars than 5 for the quality and freshness of all the inner ingredients and variety of dressings/ sauces. We asked, and they piled our footlong with very fresh vegetables Sliced pickles, tomato, two kinds of onion, slices of all three colors of fresh bell peppers, Cucumber, tasty GrEEN guacamole, black California Olives Sliced, green leaf lettuce (too bad Rwanda doesn't grow crispy iceberg which if available is the best choice for this kind of sandwich and a choice of mozzarella. Cheddar or gouda melted as the bread toasted before layering the cold veggies and layering the. Sauces It's all super fresh with generous portions, which more than make up for not having any "sides" come with the sandwich Available in regular or footlong size we choice grilled chopped chicken (also beef and another protein available) in footlong size for 9,500 rwf ~ $7.00 usd and had a decent size half sandwich each that was very satisfying Would definitely go back as there are very few america deli type sandwich lessons available in Rwanda and almost none outside of kigali. It's not quite as good as Burger Bros's /Boriskas huge smoked brisket Ruben but a respectable sandwich non the less They might want to consider actually using a good quality BUN like Safa Bakeries Burger Buns to match the name but that might be nitpicking and Consistently good bread that isn't white bread is hard to source in Rwanda anyway And we had a reasonable wait time for counter service and they do take credit and debit cards -(POS) there's a reasonablely pleasant place to sit down with your sandwich considering it borders with the ramp to the car park. Bunz does a nice job, and it's busy with young Rwandan workers from the offices above, so everything is super fresh, a key to this type of offering Protip When you finish your sandwich, head over to Golosa in block A for coffee and a nice cream filled Italian pastry.

It was hard to find. If walking, It's located in the outside mall across street from Kigali Heights. Go around back to parking lot, and you'll find Bunz down 1 flight of stairs. Clean setup. Excellent service. Friendly Staff. Freshly chopped ingredients. I ordered the large roasted chicken, which looked like ground chicken. Cost 9500 RWF. Ariston made my sandwich, knows what he's doing, and has excellent food handling techniques. They have 3 different sauces. He recommended I try all 3 sauces on my sandwich and it was tasty. The cashier took payment immediately after I ordered, and someone brought my sandwich to my table. As of June 2025, cash or Momo money only. No credit cards. Nice upbeat music. Young adult crowd.

Update 15Dec 23: Food is still really, really good. service has slowed down a bit the last two times I went. I am there 2 3 times a month. I would still go back , but I hope they keep their initial fast food status. I dont see the manager or owner who was making everyone move fast there the last few times i went. Maybe that is why the team has slowed down. The number of people is way less than before, but wait time is way more. STILL NO POS AMONG VERY FEW UPMARKET FOOD PLACES IN KIGALI THAT DOES NOT HAVE POS. Older Review: It is a great new addition to Kigali fast food scene. It is one of the few real fast food. Sauces are very good and the bunz are juicy and nice. Update: They have added some more space forsit-downn customers. Food is as good as they started. The only negative I can say i that they still don't have a POS machine to accept cards. It has been a while since they started, and they have good business, making payment seamless does not seem to be one of their priority. Especially when situated in a prime location like KABC, they should be accepting cards.
